While I love your work, I’m not really a big fan of how you’re turning them 90 degrees.
I get why you’re doing it, since the downscaling seems to bother you. But I understood the downscaling is only temporarily, so wouldn’t it be better to just keep posting them normally? Once the feature is back, all your posted images will be viewable in high size again, but they will still look turned around.

It does look wonky at first glance, but I’m not too bothered by it myself. All you need to do is download it and rotate it yourself. If that’s what’s needed to maintain a high resolution, then he should stick with it for now, and then he should be able to edit these posts later and properly frame them.
I will, however, offer my own advice that has helped me maintain higher resolutions-cropping the image beforehand. Cropping helps get rid of logos without the need of a content-aware fill for one, but I also crop them to better focus on the subject; so all that background is not necessary in most images. As long as you still have space to set your own custom text/logos, get rid of as much background as you can.
At the end of the day though, let’s let Z approach this issue how he thinks best. It does not diminish his work, or the effort he puts into them.
